Arteta offers bizarre metaphor for Kai Havertz’s struggles at Arsenal

Kai Havertz has been largely invisible in his four starts for Arsenal so far, with fans wondering why Mikel Arteta keeps playing him.
The 24-year-old seems chronically unable to score a goal, comically missing a sitter in the first half against the Red Devils.
Speaking with Sky Sports after the United game, the Spaniard used a bizarre metaphor of his struggles in front of goal — that of Arteta wooing his wife.
“I said to him yesterday, things are a little bit hard at the beginning,” Arteta is quoted by the Metro.
“When I met my wife at the beginning it was hard to conquer her. I had to try, and message, and go and go and when she said “yes I want to be together” then it’s beautiful.
“If she said yes on the first day then it’s not that great, so it’s good. I think the crowd was really good with him today.”
Mikel was then asked to say what he did to win over his wife: “Being persistent and determined, I think that was it.”
So, Kai, be persistent and determined. And don’t fluff easy chances.
