Maguire doesn’t want to sit on the Manchester United bench and play once a month

Maguire, England international and Manchester United player, spoke to the media ahead of the friendly match against Australia. He vindicated himself in the face of so much criticism of his performance as a Red Devil and said that things should be discussed if his situation of playing once a month remains the same.

Maguire spoke to the media while he was on international duty with the England national team. The Manchester United centre-back recently suffered so much criticism that even his mother issued a statement to defend him, but it seems that the defender has changed his attitude and a change in his words is beginning to show.

The centre-back is aware that his playing time has fallen at Manchester United after losing his captaincy as well. “I’m not going to sit here all my life and play once every month and if it carries on then I’m sure myself and the club will sit down and have a chat about things,” said Maguire.

“But, honestly, at the moment I’m fully focused on two games for England, two big games. Then I’m fully focused on fighting and trying to get back my place at Manchester United and helping the team climb up the league to where we should be.”

“I’ve just got to make sure I am ready to take the opportunities when they come along. It’s not my decision whether I start the next game or not,” added the Red Devils defender.
